This precious mens cameo ring features a Roman knight, a design that at first glance seems a departure from the typical feminine image of cameos. While similar to onyx, it is often made of hematite, also known as a substitute stone, and believed to have the power to ward off danger and disaster and bring victory. The substantial body, oversized design, and the contrast with the top create an elegant piece. Based on its construction and design, it appears to date to the 1950s. While unidentifiable, it bears the jewelers hallmark. It is stamped sterling silver.
