Spoon rings are said to have originated around the 17th century when aristocratic servants stole their masters cutlery because they could not buy wedding rings. Hippies discovered and revived it since the 60s. Many of them are from long-established American silver tableware makers that started in the 19th century, and this one uses a heavy body made by Gorham, a luxury silver tableware maker that ranks alongside Tiffany & Co., and has a very elegant taste. Hallmark of the Birmingham Assay Laboratory, our silverware was popular in Europe, so it seems that it is an imported product. As this is a vintage product, there may be scratches and scuffs.
