These are government-issued glasses provided to the USS (United States Safety Service), the US military. They are a rare pair of Wellington-style glasses with diamond hinges that were used until the 1960s. The grayish clear frame, which is also common to vintage safety frames of mannish Wellington styles, gives the impression of blending in with the face. New light green UV lenses have been installed. The glasses have been maintained at an eyeglass store and polished to give them a natural sheen. Although we have carefully examined the condition, they are vintage products and may have scratches or scuffs. Please understand the characteristics of vintage and antique items before purchasing. All of our glasses are maintained and lens replaced at g room, an eyeglass store in Ebisu, Tokyo.
